2018 Subaru Forester Technology
There are many technology features in the Forester that keep you, your passengers, and others around you safe. Subaru EyeSight technology is like having an extra pair of eyes watching the traffic around you. A camera is discreetly placed on each side of the rearview mirror to alert the driver of and react to conditions before the driver becomes aware. For more information on EyeSight, read our blog which covers FAQ’s about EyeSight or watch this video.
Another tech feature is STARLINK, which is the 7-inch screen display that features voice-activated GPS, integrated audio system, USB ports, and more. There are other voice-activated controls such as Siri Eyes Free, audio controls, and climate control functions.

Subaru EyeSight can be categorized as part of the technology and safety of the vehicle. If there is a possible collision ahead, EyeSight can apply the brakes to help avoid or minimize potential wrecks. Other notable safety features include:
- Blind spot detection – radar sensors alert you of cars passing in your blind spot
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert – shows traffic that might be approaching from the side when backing up
- Reverse Automatic Braking – automatically applies brakes to help prevent backend collision
- X-MODE – works with symmetrical all-wheel drive and the braking/tracking controls to maximize traction in slippery or snowy conditions
