Adventure is out there with local adventures in your Subaru!
It is no secret that Subaru owners like to get out and explore their surroundings and Louisville Subaru owners are no exception. In the Louisville area, there is so much adventure to be had, just within a short drive. At Bachman Subaru, we encourage you to go and explore as much as you can! After all, often we miss out on spots that are right under our own noses.
We’ve picked out some of our favorite spots that are in Louisville or the surrounding areas that are perfect to get away and see what is right in your own back yard.
Go to the Park
Louisville has a vibrant parks system, some are established and have a long history of providing fun, like Seneca and Cherokee Park. Others, like the Parklands System, have come on to the scene in more recent years. Armed with your best pair of hiking boots, your mountain bike or running shoes, taking advantage of the fun in the local parks systems is a great way to have fun for just the cost of the gas in your Subaru.
Explore the Gorge
If you head of Louisville to the Mountain Parkway and then head South, you will find yourself in the Red River Gorge. A well-known spot where avid campers and rock climbers flock for the fantastic climbs and the peaceful campsites. While you are there, be sure to make time to eat at Miguel’s and on the way back why not plan to go on a tour of the Ale-8 plant. If you haven’t had this iconic Kentucky drink, this is a stop that can’t be missed.
Perhaps just a Sunday style drive is more your speed, then why not head down US 60, past the hustle and bustle of the city and take a drive. Take a look at the rolling fields full of horses with miles and miles of black four board fences.
There’s more than just pumpkins at Huber’s
Maybe you are closer to Southern Indiana, why not load up and head for Huber’s Orchard and Winery? Huber’s isn’t just for pumpkin picking (although it is a great reason to head there) be sure to eat in their restaurant and have a fried biscuit with apple butter! Or you can pick some fresh berries if pumpkins aren’t your speed.
Head to the Drive-In
While you are in Indiana, why not plan to catch the latest flick on the big screen, drive-in movie style? The Georgetown Drive-In provides a sense of nostalgia, just be sure to grab some cash before you head there as it a cash only place.
Located in the Cincinnati area is Coney Island, a theme park that is a nostalgic reminder of how things were simpler way back when. The water park is refreshing in the summer and often isn’t too over run by crowds.
Get adventurous at a theme park
If you are looking for some extra adventure, why not drive 2 hours West of Louisville to Holiday World. Holiday World is a theme park that keeps families top of mind. With free sunscreen and free soft drinks, there isn’t a worry of being nickeled and dimed.
